People of Influence Luncheon

The 2011 People of Influence Luncheon, took place on June.1st at the Delta Brunswick. It was held in support of the Horizon Health Network Zone 2 "Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness/Education" program. Annually in Canada, 200 - 300 patients die waiting for Organ transplantation. Locally there are 135 patients currently on the waiting list, of these 99 are kidney patients, with less than a 25% chance of receiving a donor within one year. The goal of the Awareness/Education Program is to increase those odds by building momentum within the medical, political and public communities.

“We will continue to run contests for our youth, have presentations for our health care workers and the general public, and we are able to provide visual signs of the commitment that the Horizon Health Network has made to Organ and Tissue Donation through promotional materials made possible with the Auxiliary’s support” says Betty Anne Waugh, Organ Donation Resource Nurse, Horizon Health Network - Zone 2/ Zone 3.

Once again, thank you to all who have supported us in the past and we look forward to seeing you at our 2012 Luncheon.
